Public Finance - State and Local Public Policies

Welcome to my site. I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Michigan graduating in the Spring of 2021. Before coming to Michigan, I attended the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, and University College London.

My research is primarily in the fields of public finance and public policy. A primary interest of mine are business taxation. In particular, I am interested in the effects of state and local policies on firms. My research also focuses on the determinants of local policies and public goods provision, and how economic shocks affect local taxation, especially local property tax systems.

In my job market paper, I look at the effect of state business taxation on business dynamics - establishments and firms entry and exit.

In research with Chiara Ferrero, we use a newly collected data to shed light on the role of falling home prices during and after the Great Recession on local property taxes.

I am very excited to join the Tax Policy Center as a Research Associate in the summer.
